You get what you pay for. Crystal Marine is the ONLY school in Cyprus who earns their primary income from training. All the other schools are either diving or watersports companies catering for holiday makers first. Crystal Marine is different – all our equipment is aimed at teaching first – not boat rental or diving clients. We are the specialists – and our prices reflect that. We believe customers get value for money and the highest level of training.

An RYA Qualification is an internationally Recognized qualification( note you do need some extra local Cyprus qualifications see separate note), often an RYA qualification will reduce insurance premiums, not to mention if something goes wrong giving you access to the RYA legal team ( member only). But all that aside it never hurts to brush up skills. Our instructors pride themselves on stretching the most able of our students and coaching the weaker one. If you think you know it all then you can in some cases opt to take an assessment or written test – please ask us about the criteria. 

Very – but then we would say that – the school record speaks for itself – we have for 3 years running received the highest recognition from the RYA – “no recommendation and no non conformities” at our annual onsite inspections. We have a super safety record and 75% of all our customers come from personal recommendations.

Yes. We currently do NOT offer RYA sailing – instead our own locally based and targeted version. We cater for beginner through to instructor level – I we do not offer the course, or think you would benefit from training in more challenging conditions ( UK waters) then we work with a number of excellent trainers, schools and associates all over the world – just ask.

Our training boats have been purchased to ensure they meet EVERY RYA and local requirement. They are regularly and professionally serviced and are used solely for the purpose of training – they are never allowed out on the water without an instructor on board.

Yes – conditions and other course commitments allowing – in addition Crystal Marine offer an “After Course Care Module” – rather than offering course discounts we will spend 2 hours free of charge after your training is complete taking you out on your own boat, checking your safety kit, practicing launch and recovery, mooring, man over board etc. If you don’t have a boat then we also help with a buddy service to introduce to owners who need crew – this is a free service. There is also a local yachting club we can introduce you to.

On water based courses we have a maximum of 3 students, classroom courses range from 6 to 12 and diving courses never more than 2. We do offer private training – please ask – but we are very flexible especially in the winter months – so if we have someone with a special request we try our hardest to accommodate at no extra charge – exclusive private courses carry a supplement – ask for details.

No – the local conditions are not tough enough for advanced and there is rarely enough people to make an instructor course viable (but ask you never know). We are happy to recommend a number of schools where instructors of ours work in the UK for these requirements – however we can help you prepare.

We run courses 6 days a week (sometimes 7) and 52 weeks of the year – we are not seasonal or tourist based. So you are guaranteed an up to date course with an instructor who is regularly teaching – the great thing is you can pick and choose dates and times to suit your needs.

Yes if its an RYA or PADI certified course you will received all your course material and certificates in the price. Any additional costs are shown in our pricing structure –we have no hidden charges!

Yes – we can also do split days if you need to be home to meet your children, or work commitments. Just Ask.

Yes – with proof of ID you will receive a 20% discount on all courses – we also have a special flexible cancellation/postponement arrangement – if you are needed at work and cannot make a pre booked date we charge no cancellation or rescheduling fee – we just ask people to be fair with us!!!  –we know sometimes military staff can’t plan. Dependants get 10%.

Depends – It depends on how bad, and also the students ability or needs – if we have someone who is nervous and the weather is unpleasant we will call ( if possible 24hours before – or sometimes on the day) and give students the option of moving bookings. We believe in making every training day special – not hard work or unpleasant. 80% of all our customers rebook – so if its yuk – we all go for a coffee, and reschedule.

THIS IS IMPORTANT – please ask us when you book – there are some rules in diving for example which mean certain medical conditions are prohibited. With sailing and powerboating its nice to know before so we can reduce any risk of further problems. Please ask.

Yes from the age of 8 – Cyprus has no Child Protection Policy – Crystal Marine has adopted the UK Standard and all staff are vetted for working with youths. We offer a family sit service if you want some quality time away from the kids  - ask for details. Our staff are currently involved in training an A Level Physics group, and have in the past worked within Scouting, Duke of Edinburgh Schemes and Outreach programs. We also cater for moderate to serious special needs. Including personal care if pre arranged.
